Less than half (47%) of business decision-makers say they would be impressed knowing a company practices sustainability in the workplace and only a third (38%) think green practices are giving businesses a competitive advantage.
These are some of the findings from a recent CFM and Oregon Business Input survey among business decision-makers.
Does this less-than-overwhelming endorsement of sustainability mean green practices are losing favor among business and organizations?
No. Decision-makers are probably saying, “What’s the big deal?”
Sustainable practices are common in today’s workplace. In fact, businesses in the Portland Metro area are (with a few exceptions) required to:
- Place recycling receptacles throughout their workplaces;
- Post signs at collection areas that identify materials to be recycled; and
- Recycle all paper, cardboard and containers (metal cans, plastic bottles and tubs, and glass bottles and jars).
