Raising Your Voice, Part 4
In today’s high-tech world, it sometimes seems there are far fewer traditional speeches and far more “PowerPoint presentations.” Indeed, while we have not yet seen a State of the Union Address or a Presidential Inaugural speech featuring a PowerPoint, I suspect it won’t be long before we do. Economy, Pessimism and the General Election

Conkling Fiskum & McCormick has hired Suzie Giacomelli as an Associate in the firm’s Marketing Public Relations business.

During Suzie’s recent internship at CFM, she took lead responsibility for organizing a successful client development seminar entitled “Social Media: More Than Kids’ Play.” She is a 2009 graduate of the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. She earned a BA degree in Journalism: Public Relations with a minor in Communication Studies from the U of O, where she gained expertise in traditional, new and social media.

Suzie came to CFM’s attention while still a student when she created the “Your Digital Life: Risks, Opportunities and Practical Applications of Social Media” conference held at the U of O in May 2009, which CFM sponsored.

While at the U of O, Suzie researched, wrote and pitched a public relations plan for the Cascades Raptor Center and worked with the Eugene Gluten Intolerance Group to develop a New Year’s Dinner Social. She also served as a news team member for Duck U TV, helping to produce weekly news broadcasts. She is the 2009 recipient of the school’s Phyllis Van Kimmel Bell Leadership Award.

At CFM, Suzie will support marketing communications programs for clients, as well as other public relations activities.
