CFM’s logo has won an international design award. The firm’s new mark received a bronze award at the 2011 Summit Creative Awards, a competition drawing thousands of entries from 22 countries.
It was entered in the Business-to-Business Trademark/Logo category, according to Portland graphic designer Linda Lawyer, who created the image.
“We were in the countdown to roll out a redesigned website last summer when a decision was made about the company’s new name, Linda came up with a bold new look under a nearly impossible deadline,” says Doug Babb, who coordinated the firm’s website redevelopment effort.
“At one point she turned the job down because of other client commitments. We’re glad we talked her back on the job,” Doug adds.
CFM needed a new logo to reflect its expanded lines of business and accommodate a name change. The primary goal of a new logo, Doug says, was to make a strong visual statement that CFM provides five integrated services. "The bold use of color was key to making that point. We also wanted the logo to be interactive on the home page, making it easy for clients or potential clients to click through to any of our five lines of business.”
CFM's new logo routinely draws positive comments from people, Doug explains. "They say it is clean, fresh and informative – just what we want to hear."
