Suzie Giacomelli, a journalism and public relations major with a focus on using social media tools, has joined CFM as a summer intern. In fact, she created the “Your Digital Life: Risks, Opportunities and Practical Applications of Social Media” conference held at the University of Oregon in June, an event CFM sponsored.
Suzie graduated in June from the UO’s School of Journalism and Communication. She’s a native of Klamath Falls. While at UO, she received a scholarship awarded by the School of Journalism and was a winner of the Phyllis Van Kimmel Bell Leadership Award.
As part of her course work, Suzie researched, wrote and pitched a public relations plan for Cascades Raptor Center and worked with the Eugene Gluten Intolerance Group to develop a New Year’s Dinner Social. She also served as a news team member for Duck U TV, helping to produce the weekly campus news broadcast.
At CFM, Suzie will support marketing communications programs for clients, as well as other public relations activities. She is the latest candidate selected to work under CFM’s quarterly intern program.
