Marketing PR: Tapping the energy of engagement

CFM specializes in bioscience and other health areas

CFM staff has significant experience in the bioscience area, one that is growing annually in Portland. By 2009 Portland had 600 bioscience companies and 13 research institutions, and the industry employed more than 14,000. Growth has been steady since then, and that upward growth trajectory is expected to continue. The US population is aging, and with that, increased illness and mobility issues are anticipated.

Saving lives begins here. Whether it is in the discovery of better food options, pharmaceutical breakthroughs or consumer products, most of the innovation that improves the lives of human beings begins with bioscience.

From 1900 to 1999, the average lifespan of Americans doubled. Discoveries in bioscience were a major reason for this encouraging statistic. Just a few of the innovations during this time period included: the polio vaccine, medications to treat high blood pressure, the discovery of antibiotics, sun tan lotion, kidney dialysis, anti-depressant drugs, in-vitro fertilization, the Hepatitis B vaccine and enhanced technology to diagnose illness, including the MRI.

Today’s bioscience companies in Portland are discovering ways of creating hepatocytes (cells that make up the liver), vaccines for breast cancer and stroke rehabilitation therapies.

CFM’s Marketing Public Relations practice has many years of experience working with this and other related areas. We are able to understand, communicate and assist these companies, highlighting their assets to stakeholders, including investors, consumers and public officials.
